Cultural Awareness Training

Are you new to town? Are you interested in learning about Miriwoong Language and Culture? Do you want to think more about how to foster respect and cross-cultural understanding and relationships with Miriwoong people?

MDWg delivers a full day Cultural Awareness Training Course for people living or working on Miriwoong country. This course explicitly relates to Miriwoong people, who are the traditional owners of this area, and focuses on aspects of Language & Culture relevant to day-to-day communication and interaction to help avoid misconceptions and misunderstandings between Miriwoong and non-Indigenous people.

The Cultural Awareness Course typically runs from 8:30am-3:30pm, with breaks for morning tea and lunch (both provided by the centre). The cost is $235 per participant (GST incl).

This in-person course is offered approximately once a month. If you or your staff would like to sign up, please contact us to enquire about upcoming dates. PLEASE NOTE: these dates may be subject to change due to funerals and other unforeseen events.

If you’re unable to attend any of the scheduled dates, the course is also available online through our Training Portal. This self-paced course allows you to learn at a time that suits you.
