Garelng
Bush Melon
- The bush melon fruits September through October
- The Bush melon is harvested when it is yellow
Gerdewoon
Adansonia gregorii
- The Boab tree is a large tree that grows in most parts of Miriwoong country
- It has smooth bark with light green leaves
- When the tree flowers, it indicates that it is the end of the hot and start of the build-up season
Jardang / Gajarrang
Triodia sp.
- The Spinifex grass is found in the foothill country and is a good habitat for many reptiles
- The grass is an important plant for making resin and was harvested at the end of the hot season before the first rain
Joogoorroong
Capparis umbonata
- The Bush orange is a large tree that can grow up to five meters in height
- It produces a large round fruit that is an important food source for the Miriwoong People
- The tree grows mainly in the red soil country and fruits during Jun-Jul of the hot season
Woolegalegang
Melaleuca argentea
- The Silver leaf paperbark tree is found in sandy country
- Woolegalegang has a paper-like bark with silvery leaves
- When the Silver leaf paperbark flowers bloom it indicates the beginning of the thunderstorms at the end of the dry season
