BARNDENYIRRINY

Barndenyirriny is the hot season or the build-up season. There are three stages of this season identified by the Miriwoong people, Boornbeng, Dilboong and Deroorr–mageny season.

The first part of Barndenyirriny is usually Boornbeng – Hot, and then after that is the Dilboong – Dry part and lastly, the thunder comes in Deroorr-mageny. Click one of the buttons below to find out about the seasons in Barndenyirriny!

Even though it’s hot and dry, there’s still plenty of food around. The warm weather stirs some plants and animals to come out and these are foods for Miriwoong people. Waterholes are also dotted around the country and these have lots of food!
